BLANK CANVAS 6
Join United Cerebral Palsy of Los Angeles, Ventura & Santa Barbara Counties (UCPLA) for a live art making event which invites community members to engage in the creative process, build relationships with local artists, and grow their art collections.
Over the course of the opening night of Blank Canvas 6: Media Frenzy, community members, party-goers, and distinguished artists will take shifts drawing and making artwork for approximately 45 minutes. Sketches will become finished works of art and will be immediately available for exhibition and purchase at the turn of every hour. Choose from collage, clay, watercolor, acrylic, graphite, and other media. Bring your own art tools or use ours…!
Resident Artists of the UCPLA Washington Reid Gallery will be creating works of art throughout the night. Demonstrations of various art processes and innovative adaptive tools will be featured throughout the studio and gallery spaces.
We will hold a workshop on April 14 from 1-4pm at the Washington Reid Gallery to extend the opportunity to community artists to experiment with our tools and to add to the exhibition. A closing reception will be held on May 5 from 6-9pm to celebrate the final incarnation of our community art project!
